Born Wanstead, Essex; age 44. distinguished stage career. Served with Royal Air Force during war. Talking pictures include "Life Goes On" and "The Man They Couldn't Arrest." recreations: hunting, shooting, golf, and aviation.

 

Hugh Wakefield (1888 - 1971). As a useful stage actor Wakefield was in great demand during the quota era, though few of his films of the period were distinguished. Later he got to appear in a few decent films. The best film he was in was Blithe Spirit in which he played the doctor. After The Million Pound Note he retired.
