As the talkies arrived in Britain, Norah Baring was at the top of her career. She starred in three of the best films of the period: Underground, A Cottage on Dartmoor and Murder. Then her career petered out. Her last film was in 1934. In 1946 she published a book about her experience of taking in evacuated children in the war. And that seems to be the last anyone heard of her. Even her death date is unknown. Indeed, since she was born in 1907 it's not impossible that she might still be alive.
